Dodgers walk off the Rockies and become the first team with 60 wins in the MLB

Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Dodgers reached a new milestone in the 2026 season this Monday by defeating the Colorado Rockies 8-7 in 11 innings, becoming the first team in Major League Baseball to reach 60 wins.

The victory, achieved at Dodger Stadium, also marked the first extra-innings game for the Dodgers this season, after playing 91 games that were decided in the nine regulation innings.

The hero of the night was rookie catcher Dalton Rushing, who hit a single to center field in the bottom of the eleventh inning to drive in the winning run and walk off the Rockies.

The Dodgers seemed headed for a comfortable win after taking a 6-1 lead through four innings. Japanese star Shohei Ohtani opened the scoring with the 299th home run of his career in the third inning, and the Los Angeles offense extended the lead with a four-run rally in the fourth frame.

However, Colorado reacted in the final stretch of the game and tied the score in the ninth inning against closer Tanner Scott, forcing the game into extra innings.

In the tenth inning, the Rockies took the lead thanks to the automatic runner, but the Dodgers responded immediately to tie the game and keep their hopes alive.

Already in the eleventh inning, Venezuelan Edgardo Henríquez pitched a solid scoreless inning, setting the stage for the home offense. After an intentional walk to Max Muncy and a sacrifice bunt by Tommy Edman, Dalton Rushing hit the decisive single against reliever Jimmy Herget to seal the game.

With this result, the Dodgers continue to lead the Major Leagues and reach the 60-win mark before any other team, reaffirming their status as one of the top contenders for the title in the 2026 season.
