Inglewood, California. – Dominican star center Karl-Anthony Towns once again filled the Dominican Republic with pride by representing the World Team in the 75th edition of the NBA All-Star Game 2026, held at the Intuit Dome, home of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Towns, a figure of the New York Knicks and former champion of the Three-Point Contest, participated in his sixth All-Star Game, reaffirming his status as one of the great ambassadors of Dominican basketball in the NBA
During the event, the player expressed the special meaning that carrying the tricolor flag has for him on a world-class stage.
“It’s special. As I said, I’m honored to be in this position to show the next generation that it’s possible. To show them where we’ve had success and also mistakes, so they don’t make the same ones. To take the game, the flag, and the country to heights we couldn’t even imagine,” Towns manifested.
The 2026 All-Star debuted an innovative format of United States vs. the World, with two American teams and a World Team competing in a round-robin mini-tournament with 12-minute matches. Each team featured at least eight players, on a night that brought together the top stars of the best basketball on the planet.
Among the figures of the USA Stripes team, the presence of LeBron James, superstar of the Los Angeles Lakers, stood out, who reached the historic mark of 22 consecutive selections to the All-Star Game. Names like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant also shared the stage, consolidating an elite spectacle.
