Request to investigate Lamine Yamal’s party for possible violation of disability law

Madrid (EFE).- The Ministry of Social Rights has asked the Prosecutor’s Office, the Ombudsman, and the Office for the Fight against Hate Crimes to investigate whether, at the birthday of the footballer  Lamine Yamal, the disability law was violated, which prohibits shows of mockery or that denigrate people with disabilities.

As explained to EFE by the Director General of Disability, Jesús Martín, the department headed by Pablo Bustinduy has requested clarification as to whether people with dwarfism were denigrated at the athlete’s 18th birthday party, in violation of the law, which does not establish sanctions but does prohibit such activities for almost three years.
