According to the organization, fans from 212 countries participated in the pre-sale that began in mid-September, with the three host countries topping the list of largest buyers, followed by England, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, and France. “Today, we celebrate the sale of over a million tickets following the Visa pre-sale draw. The public’s response has been incredible, and it shows that the largest and most inclusive World Cup in history has already begun to captivate fans around the world”, said FIFA President Gianni Infantino in a statement. The next sales phase will begin on October 27, with a new early draw that will allow you to purchase individual tickets for the 104 tournament matches, as well as season tickets by stadium and by team. So far, 28 teams have secured their qualification for the final phase, including the three host nations. England is, for now, the only European team with a guaranteed ticket. “I am excited to see that so many football fans want to be part of this historic event, which for the first time will have three venues and 48 participating teams,” Infantino added. The 2026 tournament will mark a new milestone for FIFA, becoming the first World Cup simultaneously organized by three countries and the one with the largest number of teams and matches in history of the event.
