Santo Domingo.– The president of the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM), Juan Núñez Nepomuceno, praised the dedication, commitment, and spirit of sacrifice shown by the members of the national team during their participation in the baseball tournament of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, despite not reaching the goal of winning a medal.
Núñez stated that the performance of the Dominican team was marked by discipline, teamwork, and the deep sense of patriotism with which each player defended the colors of the Dominican Republic.
“This group represented us with dignity. Although the final result was not what we all longed for, no one can question the dedication and heart that these players left in every game. They behaved like a true family from the first practice to the last out of the tournament, and although the medal did not come, the pride of representing the country remained intact,” he expressed.

He acknowledged the commitment of players like Yairo Muñoz and Ricardo Céspedes, who, despite having physical injuries, decided to take the field to contribute to the team and defend the national flag.
“They are examples of responsibility, leadership, and love for their country. Even with physical limitations, they never thought of themselves first, but rather of representing the Dominican Republic with dignity. That kind of dedication deserves the respect and recognition of the entire Dominican people,” he stated.
Juan Núñez also praised the work done by general manager Luis Polonia Jr. and manager Félix Fermín Jr., highlighting the effort made to assemble the best possible team for the regional event.
“Both worked intensely on structuring this group, facing multiple challenges to gather the available talent and form a highly competitive team. Their dedication and professionalism were fundamental throughout the entire process,” he maintained.
