Dominican Olympic medalist Marileidy Paulino continued her dominance in the 400 meters by winning Sunday’s Diamond League race in Silesia, Poland, with a time of 48.87 seconds.
Paulino crossed the finish line ahead of Nickisha Pryce, who placed second in 49.49 seconds, while Salwa Eid Naser finished third in 49.57.
The victory also carried a sense of revenge for the Dominican. Eid Naser was the athlete who defeated Paulino in the 2025 Diamond League final, taking the title away from her.
After once again asserting her dominance on the track, Paulino shook hands with her fellow competitors.
The Dominican, currently ranked No. 1 in the world in the 400 meters, has now recorded four Diamond League victories in 2026.
Paulino opened her campaign with 48.91 seconds in Doha, followed by 48.48 in Paris, 48.67 in Monaco and 48.97 in London. Her 48.48-second performance in Paris remains her fastest time of the season.
The new victory comes after another standout season for Paulino, which also included a triumph on home soil in the Dominican Republic during the Central American and Caribbean Games.
