Santo Domingo Norte.– President Luis Abinader delivered the renovation and expansion of the Hacienda Estrella Municipal Hospital, a project executed by the National Health Service (SNS) that settles a historical debt of more than 20 years with this community and will benefit more than 60,922 inhabitants, according to the 2022 National Population and Housing Census.
The intervention represented a total investment of RD$103,773,453.09, which included the comprehensive renovation of the center, the construction of a new Emergency area, and the equipping with modern technology and furniture to strengthen the quality of services.
During the event, President Abinader highlighted that the delivery reaffirms the Government’s commitment to strengthening the public health network and urged community members to protect the facilities through a volunteer group made up of community leaders, neighborhood associations, and churches, in order to preserve this important investment.
The executive director of the SNS, Dr. Julio César Landrón, explained that upon taking over the management, the project had only 25% progress and that, thanks to the support of President Abinader, it was completed in less than six months.
“Today we are delivering a completely renovated, expanded, and equipped hospital, with modern services to offer more dignified, timely, and humanized care. With this project, we are settling a historical debt of more than two decades with the residents of Hacienda Estrella,” stated Landrón.

The Hacienda Estrella Municipal Hospital has offices for general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, dentistry, tuberculosis, and diabetic foot; a laboratory, X-rays, sonography, pharmacy, vaccination, operating room, delivery room, inpatient ward with ten beds, neonatal unit, and a modern Emergency department with triage, treatment area, nebulization, observation, resuscitation box, and nursing station.
The work remained for more than 20 years awaiting a comprehensive intervention. Its completion, along with that of the La Victoria Municipal Hospital, constitutes one of the main hospital infrastructure deliveries made by the SNS during this year.
