Santo Domingo. — The United States Ambassador to the country, Leah F. Campos, visited the Somos Pueblo Media studio, where she was received by communicators Eduardo Sánchez Tolentino and Ricardo Ripoll.
During the meeting, they held a conversation described as pleasant and productive, in which they addressed issues related to freedom of expression, the role of the media, and the rise of independent platforms.
The diplomat highlighted her experience during the visit and valued the work carried out by alternative media in both the United States and the Dominican Republic.
“It was a lot of fun and a true honor to visit the Somos Pueblo studio. In the United States, we are living through a disturbing time in which the traditional media colluded with the Biden Administration to censor, indoctrinate, and crush the opposition. The American people rejected that model, turned to independent news sources, and as a result, President Donald J. Trump was overwhelmingly re-elected,” Campos expressed.
Likewise, he expressed his satisfaction at observing the growth of independent media in Dominican territory.

“I find it wonderful to see that independent media is also alive and well here. Both countries proudly celebrate the freedoms that God has granted us; this is another reason why I feel at home here in the Dominican Republic,” he added.
The ambassador’s visit reaffirms the ties between both nations and highlights the importance of freedom of the press and access to diverse sources of information in democratic societies.
