Analyst and physician Humberto Salazar questioned the participation of communicator and businessman Santiago Matías, known as Alofoke, in a bet on the Polymarket platform related to his political aspirations, considering that there is a potential conflict of interest.
During an appearance on the program Una Nueva Mañana, Salazar maintained that Matías would have an advantageous position by being, at the same time, the protagonist of the event about which the prediction is made and a participant with the ability to influence its outcome.
The analyst explained that this situation could create an economic incentive contrary to their own aspirations, since, depending on the option they bet on, they could benefit from the political outcome being different than expected. For this reason, he described the situation as a case in which the protagonist would be “judge and party”.
