Washington.- Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli gave a concert this Friday in the East Room of the White House for US President Donald Trump, who gathered for the occasion all the Republicans from the House of Representatives, some of the senators closest to the president and the first lady, Melania Trump.
“Let’s listen to a voice, the voice of an angel. It’s a voice that few people have been able to reach,” Trump said, introducing the Italian before his presentation.
In addition, the president praised Bocelli for his performance at the Kennedy Center this morning for the 2026 World Cup draw, “it was incredible”, it is “a great honor”, Trump said.
A Private Recital
Subsequently, Trump celebrated the presence of the majority of Republican senators and representatives at the event and later the recital began without the presence of the press.
This is the second time Bocelli has visited Trump at the presidential residence in less than two months, as on October 17th he went to the Oval Office where he sang privately for the magnate.
During his speech tonight, Trump added that apart from Bocelli he has had other opera singers as friends and highlighted Luciano Pavarotti, another Italian tenor who died in 2007 from pancreatic cancer.
