Autozama Museum and Chavón The School of Design present the exhibition “The Measure of the Sensitive”
Santo Domingo. – The Autozama Museum inaugurated the collective exhibition “The Measure of the Sensitive,” an artistic proposal curated by Luis Graham Castillo that brings together outstanding graduates of CHAVÓN La Escuela de Diseño. The exhibition invites the public to explore the relationship between design, emotion, and materiality from multiple visual languages and creative generations, consolidating the museum as a new meeting point between contemporary art and the history of the automobile in the country.
With this initiative, Autozama reaffirms its vision of art as a cultural act that transcends function and becomes a vehicle for thought and sensitivity.
“The Autozama Museum was born with the purpose of preserving Dominican automotive memory, but also of promoting new creative perspectives and connecting with the artistic community. This exhibition is an example of how art can dialogue with history, innovation, and emotion,” expressed Omar Rojas, Commercial Director of Autozama.
Under the curatorship of Luis Graham Castillo, “The Measure of the Sensitive” proposes a reflection on how perception is traversed by memories, bodies, materials, and historical structures. The exhibited works address themes such as memory and the body, landscape and matter, the architectures of the intimate and the rituals of form, inviting the viewer to stop, observe, and feel.
In the words of its curator, the exhibition seeks “a space where the eye becomes permeable, capable of perceiving what was previously out of focus,” proposing an experience that combines introspection and dialogue with the contemporary environment.
The exhibition includes works by Adela Dore, Alina Pichardo, Carlos Montesino, Digno Roa, George Heinsen, Koco Toribio, Milena Volonteri, Mónica Lapaz, Pascal Meccariello, Pedro Troncoso, Sherezade García, Yessica Montero and Yoel Bordas. The pieces will be available for sale, with a percentage going to the CHAVÓN Student Scholarship Fund, in support of the artistic training of young Dominicans.
CHAVÓN The School of Design and the Autozama Museum enter into a collaboration agreement that will allow the development of joint initiatives to promote art, design, and culture in the Dominican Republic. This agreement reflects the commitment of both institutions to education, creativity, and the dissemination of national and international talent.
The exhibition will be open to the public at the Autozama Museum, located in the main showroom of Autozama on Winston Churchill Avenue, from November 12 to December 15, 2025. Admission is free during business hours.
