Santo Domingo.- The BHD Bank announced the opening of the call for the eleventh edition of the Women Who Change the World Award, the main award in the Dominican Republic dedicated to recognizing and supporting women whose work generates a transcendent contribution to the well-being of people and the development of their communities and the country. Through this initiative, Banco BHD distinguishes women who, from different fields such as social action, education, science, art, entrepreneurship, health, the environment and other areas, carry out sustained work that transforms lives, strengthens communities and provides solutions to important social challenges.

Over eleven editions, the Women Who Change the World Award has established itself as a platform for recognizing and strengthening women’s contributions. Since its creation, the program has recognized more than a hundred women, whose initiatives have positively impacted thousands of people in different locations across the country.

Josefina Navarro, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and Social Responsibility at Banco BHD, explained that, “beyond the awards gala, this initiative allows us to make visible and strengthen the extraordinary contribution that these women make, through our accompaniment program, which constitutes one of the distinctive features of the award, as it allows us to strengthen the sustainability and scope of the initiatives led by the award winners, expanding the positive impact they generate in their communities”.
