Santiago.— A suspect allegedly involved in a robbery with homicide that occurred early this Sunday in Jacagua died and another was wounded during a confrontation with agents of the Criminal Investigation Sub-directorate (DICRIM), the National Police reported.
The deceased was identified as Collin Joseph Garry, 36, while Luis Jean, 31, was injured and remains hospitalized under medical observation and police custody.

The confrontation took place in the Cerro Alto sector, known as El Hoyo de Cerro Alto, where investigators located both men while tracking them for their alleged connection to the incident that occurred at a residence in Jacagua al Medio.
According to the preliminary report, the suspects attempted to escape upon noticing the police presence and subsequently allegedly fired at the officers, who responded to the aggression.
During the processing of the scene, Scientific Police agents seized a Bersa pistol, 9-millimeter caliber, serial number 021119, and another pellet gun type weapon, PFM16 brand, with no serial number.
Likewise, casings, capsules, and other evidence were collected, which will be subjected to the corresponding forensic analyses as part of the investigation.
Investigation for robbery with homicide
According to the authorities, Garry and Jean are allegedly linked to the assault that occurred at a residence, where several individuals reportedly entered the property, assaulted one of its occupants, and caused the death of Ramón de León Pérez, alias “Neo”, who worked as security for the place.
The National Police maintains an active search for a third alleged accomplice, identified as “Sonson”.
Meanwhile, Police and Public Ministry investigators continue to deepen their inquiries to establish the individual participation of each suspect and clarify the circumstances in which the robbery that ended in Pérez’s death occurred.
