Santo Domingo. – The jurist and intellectual of the Fuerza del Pueblo party, Daniel Beltré López, stated this Sunday that the publication of his book Nunca Fue Bueno Tanto Olvido represents an act of defense and resistance against the collective oblivion that affects society.
During the launch of the work, held in the morning hours, Beltré López expressed that writing and publishing a book generates in the author a deep state of well-being and happiness, especially when the purpose is not simple literary creation, but the organization of an act of resistance against what he defined as “social amnesia”.
“The book entails a commitment, an act of primary resistance,” the jurist maintained, explaining that his work seeks to take a stand against the vulnerability and defenselessness that, in his opinion, occur when a society loses the memory of its history and its struggles.
Beltré López clarified that his proposal does not imply a revolt, but a conscious stance in the face of social reality. In that sense, he indicated that the content of Nunca Fue Bueno Tanto Olvido invites reflection and collective awareness to stop the effects of oblivion on the democratic and cultural life of the country.
The author indicated that the work arises as a tool to promote greater social sensitivity, understanding memory as a key element to strengthen citizenship and prevent the repetition of past mistakes.
