Santo Domingo. – The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, doctor Franklin García Fermín, was recognized by the Dominican Adventist University with the Doctor Honoris Causa in Education distinction, during the fiftieth ordinary investiture of that academic institution.
Upon receiving the distinction, García Fermín expressed his gratitude and highlighted the university’s commitment to the comprehensive training of professionals serving the country.
“Our recognition to the authorities of the Dominican Adventist University for their invaluable contribution to the comprehensive, technical, and humanist training of thousands of professionals,” affirmed the minister after being invested with the honorary title.

The recognition was presented in the presence of the president of the Dominican Union of Adventists, Pastor Teófilo Silvestre, and the university rector, Pastor Oreste Natera, who led the ceremony.

During his keynote speech, Pastor Silvestre highlighted the role of the academy as an institution dedicated to preparing high-level professionals and especially recognized the first cohort of the Doctorate in Education, composed of 27 graduates and endorsed by the MESCyT.
In that sense, Minister García Fermín congratulated the university authorities and the Adventist Church for their contribution to the construction of a better country through quality education.
