Santiago. – The condominiums of the Villa Olímpica, in Santiago, were integrated this Tuesday into the National Titling Plan, with the formal start of the technical, social, and legal works, which will allow the delivery of 2,700 definitive title certificates to families of this housing complex, directly benefiting some 10,800 people.
The Executive Director of the Technical Executive Unit for State Land Titling (UTECT), Duarte Méndez, explained that this initiative is being developed in conjunction with the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVED) and the General Directorate of National Assets, as part of an intervention aimed at providing legal security to occupants who for years have resided in their apartments without having the legal documentation that accredits them as owners.
“The works will cover plot 7-C-8-I of Cadastral District No. 08, specifically impacting the Invivienda Villa Olímpica sector, in the perimeter between Canabacoa, Penetración, Mamá Tingó, Fernández Domínguez streets and Melenio Almonte avenue,” Mendez indicated.
During the opening ceremony, the official highlighted that the title deed will not only provide peace of mind and legal protection to families, but will also allow housing units to significantly increase their market value, even up to triple.
He highlighted that this process represents a guarantee for the occupants, by ensuring that no one will be able to dispossess them of the properties they have inhabited for years, while opening up the possibility of accessing greater economic opportunities through the formalization of their assets.
Furthermore, he reiterated that all work will be completely free, so beneficiaries will not have to pay for parcel surveys, censuses, or signing acts.
The UTECT brigades will tour the Olympic Village and will be duly identified. In that sense, the authorities urged residents to collaborate with the technical personnel during the carrying out of surveys, censuses, and documentary verification processes.
The project manager is the architect Vladimir Cruz, who will be in charge of the logistics of the land survey.
It was reported that the brigades will work from early morning hours until the end of the afternoon, and that all personnel will be duly identified with institutional clothing and ID cards, to provide trust and security to the residents.
It was also recommended that occupants keep the boundaries of their properties clean and, as far as possible, be present during visits to provide their details and submit the documents related to the occupation of their homes.
The Villa Olímpica project joins the National Titling Plan as a priority of the Government.
During the activity, the authorities highlighted that President Luis Abinader has made this plan one of the strategic axes of his management, with the aim of bringing concrete solutions to families who have waited for decades for the legalization of their properties.
The Vice Minister of MIVED, Ney García, expressed that this is a day of great satisfaction and joy, as the dream of the inhabitants of the Olympic Village of having their property titles begins to come true.
Similarly, community representatives valued the impact of the initiative, highlighting the change in mood among residents, who now show hope and enthusiasm for this process.
In the activity, local and national authorities were also present, including representatives from MIVED, National Assets, SIUBEN, the Capitular Hall, and the Santiago Governorate.
The blessing of the act was carried out by priest Manuel Vargas, from the San Juan de la Cruz parish.
The National Titling Plan represents a profound transformation in the lives of Dominican families, by guaranteeing them legal security, stability, and access to new economic opportunities. That is why the Government of President Luis Abinader has given high priority to this public policy, and more than 162 thousand property titles have already been delivered throughout the national territory.
