La Romana.– The city of La Romana and the city of Matsumoto, Japan, signed a cooperation agreement with the aim of strengthening international collaboration ties and promoting joint initiatives in areas such as tourism, culture, and economic development.
The act of receiving and signing the agreement was headed by the mayor of La Romana Manuel Hernández Riquelme, Matsumoto, Yoshinao Gaun, and was attended by María Alejandra Castillo del Rault, director of Relations with Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the ambassador Lidia Hernández and Mariorquis Sebastián, first secretary and head of the Urban Diplomacy Division.
During the activity, the authorities highlighted the importance of the agreement as a strategic step for the international positioning of La Romana, by facilitating the exchange of experiences, institutional cooperation, and the promotion of projects of common interest between both cities.You can also read: CLD La Romana delivers credentials to Manuel Peralta
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration that will allow the development of initiatives aimed at boosting tourism, promoting culture, and strengthening local economic development, as well as fostering closer ties between the communities of La Romana and Matsumoto. The authorities agreed that this alliance represents an opportunity to expand the international projection of the Dominican province and consolidate relations with cities in Asia, in line with the Dominican State’s efforts to strengthen urban diplomacy and international cooperation.
