The first module, called “Introduction to Public Administration” was taught by the director of the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP), Gregorio Montero, who is a jurist, specialist in Political Science and master in Administration and Public Policies; in addition to having served as secretary general of the Latin American Center for Administration for Development (CLAD) for two periods and being a member of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration.“All this content is aimed not only at informing, but at generating criteria. Because you, from your media and platforms, build narratives, give meaning to what people understand by “State”, by “public management”, by “institutionality”. And that power must be backed by knowledge”, stated the MAP communications director.

In that first syllabus, Montero provided an introductory overview of Dominican public administration, addressing its structure, levels of organization, and main institutional actors. Over the next six weeks, communication professionals will be trained on the fundamentals governing the state structure, and the programs and processes that are executed in order to achieve a more agile, efficient, and transparent State.
