Musical “RENT” opens a new performance on May 8th after the success of its first weekend

Santo Domingo.- Tonight, the renowned Broadway musical, “RENT”, is presented in its second performance at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, in a staging by the production company JaviKarla Producciones, directed by the renowned actors Javier Grullón and Karla Fatule. In conversation with De Último Minuto, both revealed that after the success and high demand that the musical had during its first weekend, a new performance has been enabled, scheduled for next May 8, on the same stage of the Palacio de Bellas Artes. “We are going to open on Friday, May 8, due to the success we had this first weekend. That gave us the opportunity to add this function. You know that sometimes it’s difficult to reschedule new dates, but thanks to the audience’s attendance and the critics, we have been able to do it, taking into account that there are many people who could not attend due to the long weekend. So we invite you all this Friday, May 8, at the Palacio de Bellas Artes. Come celebrate our grand finale that day, because this project deserves it,” expressed Javier Grullón. The production company JaviKarla Producciones, headed by Javier Grullón and Karla Fatule, has been consolidating as one of the main promoters of musical theater in the Dominican Republic, with high-level artistic productions. Among its productions are Grease, In The Heights and Peter Pan, el musical, the latter with multiple sold-out performances and a great impact on the local public.

They also explained that this performance on May 8th will mark the definitive closing of the RENT season, ruling out the possibility of taking the play to other cities such as Santiago de los Caballeros, due to the technical requirements, permits, and dimensions that a production of this magnitude requires. The production features a first-rate cast led by Javier Grullón and Karla Fatule, who share the stage with prominent figures such as Héctor Aníbal, Tony Almont and Techy Fatule, as well as Guille Martín, Nico Clínico and Laura Rivera. Alongside them, a talented group completes a cast of more than 25 artists on stage, contributing interpretive and vocal strength to this demanding rock opera. The last performance of this acclaimed musical will be presented on May 8th at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, and tickets will be available through Uepa Tickets.
