Reform to be announced by the Government includes more taxes on Large Taxpayers, checks and transfers

The Dominican Government, through the Ministry of Finance, will announce this Thursday at 4:00 p.m. a series of fiscal measures (reform) that include the repeal of some taxes and the increase of others.

A source revealed to De Último Minuto that one of the main measures will be to raise the Income Tax to 30% for Large Taxpayers and a tax on checks and electronic transfers.

A 10% tax will also be applied to foreign income of Individuals.

Likewise, the gradual repeal of the mortgage tax is ordered, among other measures.

The series of fiscal measures will be announced by the Minister of Finance and Economy (MHE), Magín Díaz, as a new plan that the Government has to ensure “economic growth” and mitigate the impact of the international crisis registered in the country.
