San Francisco de Macorís. – Thanks to the efforts of the senator of Duarte province, Franklin Romero, the Alcohol Beverage Council (COBA) decided to reopen the 15 businesses that had been closed last Saturday in this city. The measure was adopted after a statement from the legislator in which he requested the immediate reopening of the establishments, pointing out that the closure had been disproportionate.
The director of COBA, Fermín Domínguez, reported that after evaluating the files, it was determined that the observations pointed out by the senator were in accordance with the law and did not justify maintaining the closures. However, some businesses have more extensive observations, so their owners must attend a meeting in Santo Domingo next Thursday, where each case will be reviewed individually in accordance with current regulations.

Domínguez added that, if necessary, an institutional commission will be formed to accompany the merchants during the process, ensuring responsible monitoring and appropriate solutions.
