President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo reiterated that her government will “always” defend the sovereignty and independence of Mexico, as well as Mexican migrants in the United States, one day after her American counterpart, Donald Trump, announced a new tariff policy worldwide.
The president took advantage of her visit to Coahuila to reaffirm her support for migrants Mexicans by sending them “a warm greeting” and expressing her admiration, emphasizing that her government “loves them and ”defends them”.
“Now that we are also in a border state with the United States, we must send a warm greeting, with admiration, to all the Mexican women and men who are on the other side of the border.”“Let them know that their people and their government love and defend them, because the people of Mexico have something very special, we are generous, that is our distinction, love always distinguishes the people of Mexico”, he said at the Delivery of the Welfare Housing Program, which he led this morning in Monclova.

Sheinbaum Pardo added that Mexicans in the United States contribute to Mexico’s economy, as they send money to their families. However, he reiterated that “the United States is not what it is if it weren’t for the Mexicans who work on the other side of the border”.
“That’s why they are heroes and heroines and we will always defend them and defend the sovereignty of Mexico. Just as Madero did, as Carranza did, in our history, in our essence is Mexico as an independent and sovereign country,” he pointed out.
