Sad news related to Call of Duty. Vince Zampella, co-founder of Infinity Ward and head of Respawn Entertainment, has passed away at the age of 55 in a traffic accident that occurred on December 21, 2025, on Angeles Crest Highway, in Southern California.

The news has sparked numerous expressions of condolence in the video game industry, highlighting his enormous influence and human qualities. Zampella began his career in the late 90s and was a key figure in historical sagas such as Medal of Honor and Call of Duty, as well as co-founding Infinity Ward. After leaving Activision, he created Respawn Entertainment, the studio responsible for such important franchises as Titanfall, Star Wars Jedi, and Apex Legends.

He also led the Battlefield saga and directed Ripple Effect Studios, leaving a fundamental legacy in the history of the modern video game. From Nintenderos we send our condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace.
