San Cristóbal. – The Superior Basketball Tournament of
San Cristóbal 2025 continued on the night of Friday, December 6th with an exciting double header, where the Lobos de Canastica and Ciro Pérez teams achieved important victories against their respective rivals, further raising the competitive level of the event that brings together the best of basketball in the province.
First Match: Wolves 92 – Hornets 88
In a game of high intensity and alternating scores, Lobos de Canastica defeated Avispones de Pueblo Nuevo 92 to 88, thanks to a huge performance by reinforcement Juan Rosario, who recorded a double-double of 40 points and 17 rebounds, being the great protagonist of the match. Alongside him, the also reinforcement Edgar Tejeda contributed 22 points, consolidating the offense of the Lobos in the key moments of the game.
For the Pueblo Nuevo team, the always effective Luis López scored 23 points, while Héctor Cordero had a solid night with a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds, although their efforts were not enough to avoid the defeat.

Second Match: Ciro Pérez 89 – Laguneros 86
In the second match of the night, Ciro Pérez achieved a very close victory against the Laguneros de Madre Vieja Norte, winning with a score of 89 to 86. The key figure of the match was once again the reinforcement Kelvin Furcal, who dominated on both sides of the court with an impressive double-double of 25 points and 17 rebounds, ratifying his status as one of the most consistent players in the tournament.
Next to him shone veteran José “Tongo” Corporán, who also stood out with a double-double of 14 points and 20 rebounds, controlling the paint and contributing experience to the most winning team in the history of the tournament.
For the Laguneros, the team showed grit and resilience until the last seconds, but could not stop the final push of Ciro Pérez in a heart-stopping finish.
The tournament continues this Sunday with a triple header
The action doesn’t stop. This Sunday, December 8th, the TBS San Cristóbal will continue with its already traditional triple Sunday card, starting at 11:00 in the morning at the city’s covered sports center. A day full of excitement is expected, where the teams will seek to consolidate their positions in the standings.
The organizing committee invites the entire population to support the event, remembering that the general admission price is only RD$100 per person, an accessible amount to enjoy a high-level sporting spectacle, with local talent and outstanding guests.

Under the organization of the San Cristóbal Basketball Association (ABASANCRIS) and with the support of the Ministry of Sports, EGEHID and other sponsors, the 2025 Superior Tournament continues to consolidate as a key platform for the development of young talent, and a space where the community unites around sport.
