Santo Domingo.- The Judicial Office of Santo Domingo West imposed three months of internment in a psychiatric center on Glenny Talleria, accused of the death of her daughter, a 10-year-old minor, in an incident that occurred last Saturday in Batey Bienvenido, in Manoguayabo, Santo Domingo West.
The decision was adopted as a coercive measure, after the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested pretrial detention for the accused. Talleria’s defense reported that the woman will be transferred to the psychiatric ward of the Najayo Women’s prison, where she will receive specialized care during the period established by the court.
Upon leaving the hearing, attorney Jean Carlos Martínez explained that his client had a history of major depression and other psychiatric conditions since approximately 2022, for which, he stated, she was under medical treatment and supervision by her family members.
The jurist asked the media to approach the case with sensitivity and avoid sensationalism, considering that it is a tragedy that has caused deep pain to the family.

The investigation remains in the hands of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, while the accused remains in custody and will receive psychiatric care by judicial order.

The girl had been injured last Saturday during an incident that occurred at the home where she lived with her mother.
National Police spokesperson Diego Pesqueira reported that the minor received emergency medical assistance after suffering a laceration to the neck. However, she passed away while being treated by medical staff.
