Yaguate, San Cristóbal. — The Yaguate team was crowned champion of the Pony League 13U Premundial, conquering the Caribbean and Latin American title and securing their qualification for the Pony League World Series, which will be held next July in California, United States.

The Dominican representation won the final against the Santiago team, in an exciting match that brought together hundreds of fans and baseball followers in the municipality of Yaguate.
During the final day, Ely Encarnación, Deputy General Director of Migration; Víctor Ramón Montás, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of San Cristóbal; and Mayor José Oviedo were recognized for their contributions to sports development and their support for the initiatives promoted by Pony Dominicana Baseball.
The closing ceremony, held at La Chivería restaurant, was led by the mayor and president of the organizing committee, José Oviedo, who thanked the support of institutions, collaborators, and citizens who made the success of the international event possible.
Likewise, the president of Pony Dominicana Baseball, Professor Eugenio Báez, highlighted the high competitive level of the tournament and valued the effort made by athletes, coaches, parents, and organizers to ensure a successful celebration of the championship.
During the activity, the Pony Dominicana Baseball work team presented a special recognition to Professor Eugenio Báez for his leadership and dedication to the sports development of children and young people through baseball.
The tournament brought together national and international delegations, strengthening the sports and cultural ties between the participating countries and projecting the municipality of Yaguate as the venue for important international sporting events.
The closing ceremony was also attended by the president of the Yaguate Council of Councilors, Sugeydi Guzmán, as well as councilors Justo Rodríguez and Justo Mejía, among other personalities.
