Young man nicknamed “Wiro” surrenders to the National Police following accusations on social media

Santo Domingo.- Harlen Alexander Dolores Almonte, known as “Wiro”, surrendered this Monday to the National Police through De Último Minuto, after publications circulated on the instagram account “Robos RD” that identified him as an individual allegedly heavily armed. As explained by the young man, who resides in the Buenos Aires sector of Herrera, he decided to appear before the authorities to clarify his situation and deny the accusations spread on social media. The National Police proceeded to transfer him to the Naco detachment, to determine if the young man has any charges against him and to carry out an exhaustive screening to determine the veracity of the information disseminated on the aforementioned page.

Dolores explained that the person in the image circulating on social media, despite having their face and arms covered, was shot dead in an alleged exchange of gunfire with police officers about a year ago and was known as Junior or “Junito”. Authorities reiterated their call to the population not to spread unverified information on social media and to channel any complaints through official channels.
