Santo Domingo.– President Luis Abinader referred this Monday to the summons made by the Central Electoral Board (JCE) to the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), accused of engaging in proselytizing activities outside the time established by the electoral law.
When questioned in LA Semanal, the president assured that he does not consider the PRM to be the party that has carried out the most campaign activities in this period.“If you are wondering where the PRM members were, however the other parties were doing proselytizing activities”, he expressed.

Despite his stance, Abinader acknowledged the authority of the JCE and affirmed that they will comply with what is established in the law. “We are going to accept it, because that is the law,” pointed out the head of state when approached by the press. He also assured that none of those considered presidential candidates of the political entity are currently campaigning, highlighting that a protocol was activated within the organization to instruct these aspirants. The JCE had warned the PRM after alerting all political organizations about the risk of sanctions if they continue to promote candidacies and carry out electoral acts outside the official calendar.
