Santo Domingo.- Relatives of an inmate who died at the Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) Las Parras requested an exhaustive investigation this Wednesday to determine the circumstances under which his death occurred.
The victim was identified as Jancarlos Peralta, 30 years old, who had been held at the penitentiary center for almost three years.
His relatives claim that the body showed multiple traumas and bruising in different parts, which is why they requested that judicial and penitentiary authorities clarify what happened.
According to those close to him, Peralta was transported to a health center without vital signs.
Given the conditions that, as they maintain, the body presented, his relatives demanded that the corresponding investigations be carried out to establish what happened before his death.

The relatives also pointed out that the young man had been deprived of his liberty for almost three years and that he had approximately one month left to regain his freedom.

According to those close to him, Peralta had received a favorable resolution following a process in which, according to his version, his innocence regarding the charges for which he remained imprisoned had been verified.
Call to clarify death at CCR Las Parras
Peralta’s relatives requested that judicial and prison authorities deepen the investigations to determine the causes and circumstances of his death.
The case remains pending the results of the official investigations, which must establish what happened to the young man while he was in custody at the CCR Las Parras.
