DNCD arrests 11 people and seizes more than 4 thousand grams of drugs in Capotillo

Capotillo, Distrito Nacional. — A total of 11 people were arrested during several interventions against drug micro-trafficking carried out by agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), in coordination with the Public Ministry and with the support of the National Police, in the Capotillo sector. The operations were carried out at different strategic points in that neighborhood, including the alleys of Sibanito and Los Sin Camisa, as well as 42nd, 41st streets and surrounding areas. The actions were part of the new strategies implemented by the Joint Task Force, under the coordination of prosecutors from the National District. During the operations, the authorities seized a total of 4,283 grams of alleged narcotic substances, distributed in 4,101 grams of cocaine, 156 grams of a plant presumed to be marijuana, and 26 doses of crack, according to a press release issued by the DNCD.

In addition to the drugs, four scales, a bulletproof vest, two slot machines, scissors, plastic bags and other materials used for the preparation, dosage and packaging of controlled substances were seized. The detainees will be brought before the justice system in the coming hours for the corresponding legal purposes. Meanwhile, the authorities reiterated that they will continue to reinforce anti-drug operations in different sectors of the country, as part of their commitment to combat drug trafficking and firmly apply Law 50-88 on Drugs and Controlled Substances.
