Santo Domingo.– Journalist Domingo Del Pilar was reappointed as general director of Press for the Telemicro Group media, replacing Alberto Caminero, who moved to a position in the Presidency of the Republic.
The announcement was made by the president of the Telemicro Group, Juan Ramón Gómez Díaz, during an event held in the newsroom of the television station, where he highlighted both Del Pilar’s professional and human qualities, as well as the work carried out by Caminero at the head of the department in recent years.
In addition to his managerial role, Del Pilar will continue as a panelist on the morning show, which airs daily on Telemicro, channel 5, and as co-host of the program En Contacto, broadcast every Sunday at 6:00 p.m. on Telecentro, channel 13.
The veteran communicator had already held the same position between 2009 and 2017. During that period, he participated in the production and hosting of programs such as
Matinal, Objetivo 5, Doble Cara and
Lo Último. Previously, he worked for 22 years at the newspaper
El Nacional, where he served as editor-in-chief for the last 13 years.
In the institutional sphere, he was in charge of Communications for the Dominican Federation of Municipalities (FEDOMU) between 2019 and 2020 and Director of Strategic Communications for the Ministry of Energy and Mines from 2020 to 2024.
Del Pilar is a graduate of Social Communication from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (
UASD) and has completed multiple professional training programs. He is the founder and director of the digital media alacechord.com.
Throughout his career, he has received various recognitions, including the Order of Merit of Duarte, Sánchez and Mella in the degree of Knight, awarded by the Executive Branch in 2006 on the occasion of Journalist’s Day.
