Dominican Republic will host the 22nd International Anti-Corruption Conference
Santo Domingo. – At a crucial moment for democracy and integrity worldwide, the Dominican Republic is preparing to be the epicenter of the fight against corruption, having been chosen as the venue for the 22nd International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC).
Under the slogan “Igniting the power of integrity,” this transcendental event, which reaffirms the country’s positioning as an example of the fight against corruption, will bring together more than 2,000 leaders, experts, and integrity defenders from more than 140 countries in Punta Cana, from December 1 to 4, 2026.
“We are excited that the Dominican Republic will host the next International Anti-Corruption Conference,” said the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, when the information was released.
“This event represents a unique opportunity to forge stronger alliances, define bold and innovative strategies, and unleash the power of integrity as a guiding force in politics, justice, business, and finance, both globally and locally. We want a world where transparency and honesty are the norm, and this meeting in our country will be a fundamental step towards that goal,” highlighted the president.
The Dominican Government assured that the holding of the conclave constitutes a recognition of the country’s sustained commitment in the fight against impunity, as well as the efforts to strengthen democratic institutions, consolidating itself as a benchmark in the region in terms of ethical governance and institutional strengthening.
The 22nd IACC in the Dominican Republic called on all honest people from every region of the world, through the public and private sectors, civil society, the media, academia, and the younger generations, to unite in a single purpose to defend a shared vision of a world free of corruption.
The IACC arrives in a global context in which the erosion of democratic values and the undermining of freedoms continue relentlessly. Greed and corruption are fueling a war against integrity, human security, and sustainability, while disregard for laws and institutions is becoming normalized. The advance of authoritarian regimes and their thirst for concentrated power are fueling an unprecedented increase in human rights violations, armed conflicts, and crimes against humanity.
Following the successful conclusion of the 21st IACC in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2024, with the participation of more than 2,000 delegates from 140 countries, the urgency of this mission has never been greater, and the global determination to face it, neither. “Together, we can forge stronger alliances, define bold and innovative strategies, and unleash the power of integrity as a guiding force in politics, justice, business, and finance — from global to local. For the world we want,” underlines the declaration.
