San Francisco de Macorís, R.D. – The Cooperative of Production, Work and Multiple Services of Dominican Rabbit Farmers (COOPCUNIDOM) will launch a new line of sausages made from rabbit meat during the 29th Wholesale Expo 2025, organized by the Association of Wholesale Merchants of Duarte Province.
The event, which will be held from Wednesday, August 27th to Sunday, August 31st at the Club El Mayorista in San Francisco de Macorís, is considered the largest platform for commerce, culture, entrepreneurship, and innovation in the northeast and one of the most relevant fairs in the region.
The products to be presented are part of the brand “Conejo Rey de la República Dominicana” and include: chorizo, meatballs, hamburger meat, croquettes, cooked ham, and longaniza.
According to the cooperative’s directives, including Ramón Emilio Polanco Hernández, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Yeralis Hernández, Secretary of the Board of Directors, and Johanny Altagracia Rodríguez, manager, the initiative seeks to diversify the food market with alternatives of greater nutritional value.
Rabbit meat is characterized by its low fat content and its protein contribution, as well as being a versatile option in gastronomy. With this project, COOPCUNIDOM aims to strengthen the country’s rabbit production and open up new marketing opportunities for small and medium-sized producers.
The Wholesale Expo 2025 will feature the participation of companies, cooperatives, merchants, and entrepreneurs from across the region, becoming a key space for commercial exchange and the presentation of innovations in different sectors.
