Santo Domingo. – According to the meteorological analyst, Jean Suriel, this September will be the hottest of the year in the Dominican Republic.
Suriel noted that September has been characterized by extreme temperatures in a large part of the country due to the maturity of summer and the influence of humid winds from the Caribbean Sea.
In that sense, solar radiation is the perfect ingredient to increase the suffocating heat in the Dominican territory: with a very high thermal sensation between 10 AM and 5 PM, with 2 PM as the hottest hour of the day.
This period of extreme temperatures extends in the DR from the beginning of August to the end of October, with September taking the trophy for being the most suffocating month.
In the next 24 to 48 hours, some moderate rainfall could develop towards the north, northwest, Cordillera Central, border area, and south, due to the incidence of a trough and humid winds.
