New York.- President Luis Abinader urged those responsible for the attack on merengue artist Julián Oro Duro and his wife, Zeneida Socorro Castillo, who died during the incident that occurred at the couple’s residence in Santo Domingo East, to turn themselves in this Monday.
The president referred to the case when approached by journalists during his agenda in New York, where he warned those involved that making themselves available to the authorities would be the best option.
“Let them surrender, let us give them the chance to surrender, they will be better off. If they don’t surrender, they will be worse off,” expressed Abinader.

The head of State described what happened as an “unspeakable act of criminality” and assured that the authorities will act to preserve citizen security and confront those responsible.
“Criminals of that ilk, who have no respect for human life, what they should do is turn themselves in; if not, things will go worse for them,” he insisted.
Abinader also expressed his condolences to the family of Zeneida Socorro Castillo and expressed his wish that Julián Oro Duro may recover from the injuries sustained.
“We learned of this tragedy this morning. The first thing is our condolences to his family, which we are very sorry about, and we also hope that Oro Duro can recover from the wounds he suffered,” the ruler declared.
The National Police reported that the artist, whose name is Gilberto Julián Sarante Perdomo, suffered craniofacial injuries and an intracranial hemorrhage. Castillo, 60, passed away after receiving blows and a sharp-force injury, according to the preliminary forensic medical diagnosis.
