Puerto Plata.– In the midst of pain and outrage, Carlos Manuel Genao, father of the 13-year-old girl Brianna Genao González, demanded this Thursday that the authorities bring to justice and punish with the full weight of the law the two men who allegedly confessed to taking the life of his daughter, who had been missing since last December 31 in the community of Barrero, municipality of Imbert, Puerto Plata province.
Visibly affected, Genao reacted after learning of preliminary information suggesting that the minor had been a victim of rape, murder, and subsequent burial, a fact that has caused deep consternation both in the community and nationally. You may be interested in: http://Silence marks the investigation into the disappearance of the girl Brianna Genao Rosario in Barrero de Imbert
“I hope they pay for what they did to my daughter”, expressed the father through tears, while demanding justice and clear answers from the authorities responsible for the investigation. The progenitor revealed that on Wednesday he held a meeting with representatives of the investigation team, who informed him that the suspects had admitted their responsibility in the crime and offered details that directly implicate them. “Yes, they spoke to us yesterday and said they had told everything; that they had killed and beaten her. They even showed me some evidence,” he recounted with evident anguish. The disappearance of Brianna Genao kept the Barrero community on edge for several days, generating extensive search operations and a growing social outcry for clarification of the case. After these revelations became known, residents and family members insist that the crime not go unpunished and that the law be applied without leniency. So far, the Public Ministry has not offered a detailed official version on the progress of the process nor on the coercive measures that would be requested against the alleged implicated, while the country continues shocked by a case that mourns a family and shakes the collective conscience.
