SANTO DOMINGO OESTE. – A court in this jurisdiction sentenced a man found guilty of sexual assault against a 16-year-old teenager to 20 years in prison, in an incident that occurred in the Manoguayabo sector, Santo Domingo Oeste municipality.
The sentence was handed down at the request of the Public Ministry against Carlos Rafael Campusano Féliz, who was found guilty of violating several articles of the Dominican Penal Code and of Law No. 136-03, which creates the Code for the Protection System and the Fundamental Rights of Children and Adolescents.You may be interested in: http://Condenan a 30 años a hombre que asesinó a expareja y le incendió la vivienda en Nagua
During the trial, the litigating prosecutors Aldalgisa Hernández and Vilma Méndez stated that the victim reported, through a Gesell Chamber interview, having been sexually abused by the aggressor since she was a minor. According to what was established in the process, the accused threatened her with death to prevent her from reporting the facts. The condemned was arrested in the act in November 2024, after an anonymous call alerted the National Emergency System 9-1-1, which allowed the immediate intervention of the authorities. The investigation was led by prosecutor Olivia Sosa, who presented a set of compelling evidence, including medical-forensic examinations, psychological evaluations, testimonies from the acting agents and the victim’s statements, elements that were decisive for the conviction.The Third Collegiate Court of Santo Domingo Oeste, presided over by magistrate Juan Pablo Ortiz Peguero and composed of judges Sandra Josefina Cruz Rosario and Nelcy Ortega Ramírez, ordered that Campusano Féliz serve the sentence in the Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) Najayo Hombres.
