Santo Domingo. – The Faculty of Agronomic and Veterinary Sciences was in mourning on July 24, 2025, after learning of the death of Professor José E. Alarcón Mella, who served as director of the School of Agronomic Engineering.
The academic community expressed its sorrow for this irreparable loss, highlighting the career, commitment, and legacy of Professor Alarcón Mella in the development of agronomy in the country and in the training of generations of professionals in the field.
The funeral honors are being held at the Blandino Funeral Home, located on Abraham Lincoln Avenue, where family, colleagues, and students have gathered to pay tribute.
