Santo Domingo.- The National Police reported this Saturday that it captured one of three men identified as alleged perpetrators of the death of Reimy Tomás Rodríguez Rojas and Rodolfo Martínez Parelló, reported missing on December 31st in Santiago.

The institution also announced that it is pursuing the also Haitian Yelson Trinidad García (alias Villano), 18 years old; and Jimmy Jules Mecido, 20, for their alleged involvement in these events. The bodies of both men were found yesterday buried in the back of a property located in the Los Santanas sector, Licey al Medio municipality, presenting gunshot wounds and severe trauma. Yoni Pierre resides in this dwelling, the National Police specified in its statement. The case originated after the discovery on January 1st of an abandoned vehicle with bloodstains and ballistic evidence on Circunvalación Norte Avenue, Limonal sector, Licey al Medio municipality, Santiago, which was used by the victims for collection work. Researchers are still working to establish the context that gave rise to the events in which the now-detained and the fugitives participated, who would have moved the vehicle and abandoned it at the place where it was located by the authorities. During the process, several people were taken for investigation purposes, tools allegedly used for burial and other material evidence were seized, the note added.
