Valverde.– National Police agents arrested a man who was wanted by the justice system for his alleged participation in a robbery case that occurred in the municipality of Laguna Salada, Valverde province.
The detainee was identified as Epedito Sosa Vargas, 28 years old, a resident of the Las Flores sector, who was captured during an operation carried out by members of the Preventive Police in coordination with agents of the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM).
According to the police report, the arrest was executed in compliance with judicial order No. 323/2026, issued against him for his alleged connection to a robbery incident, classified under article 379 of the Dominican Penal Code.

The law enforcement institution explained that the arrest is part of the actions it carries out to combat crime and respond to cases reported by citizens.
After his capture, Sosa Vargas was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal procedures.
The National Police reiterated that it will continue to strengthen prevention, investigation, and crime prosecution efforts throughout the Northwest region, with the goal of guaranteeing citizen security and compliance with the law.
