Santo Domingo- The General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services (DGSPC) reported this Friday that it is providing all health care to the inmate Ángel Martínez, who is in the Provisional Liberty Deprivation Center (Caplip) of the Palace of Justice of Ciudad Nueva.
Dr. Gaurys Sisa, national head of Health of the DGSPC, explained that, in addition to monitoring the conditions of Martínez Jiménez to offer him the care he may require, his lawyer, Carlos Mesa, was formally informed that the institution remains in the best disposition for the prisoner’s private doctor to visit him if the doctor deems it necessary.
Sisa indicated that this Friday, the inmate housed in Caplip in compliance with the provision of a court, even received a visit from his urologist José Esquivel Pérez Vidal, with whom he had a conversation related to his medication.
The DGSPC continues to provide Martínez Jiménez with the same food that the Penitentiary System provides to other inmates, even if the inmate decides to continue acquiring food, such as a recognized nutritional supplement, milk and other edible products, in the commissary that operates in the Caplip.
He also recalled that the lawyers of the person deprived of liberty are completely free to enter and speak with their client during the hours established by the current protocols.
