Twelve undocumented Haitians detained inside the tank of a tanker truck

Santo Domingo.- Twelve undocumented Haitians were arrested while being transported to La Vega in the tank of a tanker truck, the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported this Friday. According to a statement from Migration, the bulk water dispensing truck driven by Dominican Pedro Chanel Mora Hernández was intercepted on the Jarabacoa band bridge.

The Haitians and the Dominican involved were arrested and sent to the Haina Immigrant Detention Center. The note reminds that Dominican legislation prohibits the transport or transfer of foreigners without regular immigration status and that those who violate the provision will be brought to justice.
