Two men sentenced to 20 years in prison for aggravated robbery and assault in Elías Piña

Santo Domingo.- The Collegiate Court of Elías Piña sentenced two men to 20 years in prison for aggravated robbery and physical assault against a citizen, in an incident that occurred on November 1, 2024, in the municipality of Comendador, in this province, it was reported this Tuesday. The sentence was handed down against Edwin Gruyon Amador (alias Cueko) and Endri Amador (alias Ningui), who entered the property of the merchant Juan Rosendo Lorenzo, whom they assaulted and robbed of more than 600,000 pesos, according to a statement from the Public Ministry.

To commit the acts, the defendants broke the marquee of the building and, using a crowbar, removed an iron protector that covered a glass window, thus managing to enter the house. Once inside the property, in the hallway of the residence, they hit Rosendo Lorenzo in the left knee and subsequently stole a bundle containing the approximate sum of 650,353, money he was carrying as a result of his commercial activities.
