Yuna Fuel President Reaffirms Legal Compliance and Calls for Respect for the Rule of Law

Bonao, Dominican Republic. – The company Combustible del Yuna offered the morning of this Thursday, February 19, a meeting with representatives of the media of the municipality, where it presented updated details on the process of installing its new fuel dispensing station on Professor Juan Bosch Avenue (Former Libertad Avenue). During the press conference, held at the Plaza Merengue shopping center, the executive management explained in a comprehensive and documented manner that the project has been developed in strict compliance with all legal requirements established by the regulations in force in the Dominican Republic for this type of infrastructure.

According to what they stated, the station has the corresponding authorizations and permits issued by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Mipymes, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MIMARENA), the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED), the City Council of the Municipality of Bonao, as well as the Bonao Fire Department, the Dominican Civil Defense and the General Directorate of National Cadastre. Executives pointed out that, despite having all the institutional endorsements, the project has been the subject of seven legal challenges, each of which has been favorable to the company, which – according to them – reaffirms the legality, transparency and technical soundness of the initiative. They also highlighted that the process has taken approximately ten years, a period during which they have maintained a prudent and respectful stance towards the various resources filed, prioritizing community dialogue and strict compliance with legal provisions. The company president, Rafael Rodríguez, stated that Combustible del Yuna’s commitment has been to act within the framework of the law, with social responsibility and transparency, ensuring that to date each of the technical, environmental and municipal requirements demanded by the competent authorities has been met. In that regard, he called on the relevant authorities to remain vigilant against any action that could disrupt public order or endanger the safety of the personnel working in the facilities, as well as the integrity of the infrastructure. Finally, the company reiterated that the development of the Monseñor Nouel province must be based on respect for the rule of law, free competition, and the honest work of men and women who are committed to peaceful and productive coexistence. The meeting was attended by dozens of communicators and representatives of local media, who listened to the official presentation and had the opportunity to ask questions about the progress of the project.
