Investigation into the discovery of 4 bodies in the Seine River in Paris

Paris.- The Paris Judicial Police is investigating the appearance this Wednesday of four bodies in the Seine River as it passes through Choisy-le-Roi, on the outskirts of Paris, deaths whose strange circumstances are still to be clarified.

The discovery of a first body occurred after an alert call from a commuter train traveler on the RER C line upon spotting a body floating out the window, according to French media. When several police officers and firefighters arrived at the indicated place, they found four bodies a few meters from each other.

It’s about four men still unidentified, three of them dressed and one naked.

The river brigade of the police initially recovered the body of a man, the one the train traveler had seen, and minutes later found a second body about fifty meters from the first, a third, stuck between branches, and finally a fourth, swept away by the current.

From the first indications, they had been submerged for several days, showed signs of advanced decomposition, and there were no signs pointing to criminal action. They have been transferred to the Paris Institute of Forensic Medicine for identification and to perform the autopsy to determine the causes of this finding. The mayor of Choisy-le-Roi, Tonino Panetta, has stated to the newspaper Le Parisien that they may have been adrift from quite far away, but that doesn’t explain why they were found so close to each other.
