NEW YORK. A 32-year-old man was found dead in broad daylight inside a car parked on a street in the Ozone Park neighborhood of Queens after being shot in the head, according to authorities in New York.
The discovery occurred around 1:40 p.m. on Sunday, when officers from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) responded to a 911 call and found the man lifeless inside a Buick with California license plates, located on 97th Street, near Linden Boulevard.
Although the identity of the deceased has not been officially revealed, neighbors in the area said they heard gunshots around 2:00 in the morning, although they did not imagine the magnitude of the event until they saw the scene cordoned off by the police hours later.
The case has been classified as homicide, and as of the closing of this edition, no arrests or identified suspects have been reported. The NYPD’s Homicide Unit is in charge of the investigations.
This new crime adds to a worrying series of macabre findings that have shaken different neighborhoods in New York in recent months, including bodies in abandoned ambulances, garbage trucks, and apartments, many of them unsolved.
