Police in Thailand said the 14-year-old accused in a deadly school shooting near Bangkok had watched violent content online and used social media to learn how to operate a firearm.
According to Reuters, investigators said the teenager had shown an interest in firearms for one to two years. A teacher had previously confiscated an air gun from him last year.
Police said the teenager allegedly killed his grandparents at home before shooting six people at his school and then taking his own life. Investigators also found a knife, a firearm, spent cartridges and a personal computer among the evidence collected from the crime scenes.
The boy’s mother told Reuters that she had not noticed any unusual behavior and described him as bright and cheerful. She also said he had denied being bullied when she asked him about it.
