Havana.- The Cuban Government stated this Friday that it will face Washington’s decision to impose tariffs on countries that sell or supply oil to the island with “firmness” and assured that in the face of economic pressure from the United States “the decision is one: homeland or death”.

In an extensive statement, one day after the publication of the White House executive order, the island government assured that the United States “is mistaken” in trusting that “with economic pressure” on the Caribbean country it will achieve that “Cuba falls”. However, Havana assured that it is willing to maintain a “serious, responsible and based on international law, on sovereign equality, on mutual respect” dialogue with the United States but without “interference in internal affairs”.
