Beirut.– The death toll in the Israeli bombing campaign launched this Monday against Lebanon has now risen to 52 and the number of injured remains at 154, while attacks continue against different areas of the country, including the suburbs of Beirut.
Since its beginning early this Monday, the actions launched by the Jewish State have caused 52 deaths and 154 injuries, according to a report by the Disaster Management Unit released by the National News Agency of Lebanon (ANN).

Throughout the day, Israel reached various areas of southern Lebanon, the eastern Bekaa Valley, and the outskirts of the capital, Dahye, some of whose explosions could be heard in much of Beirut. The air offensive caused the displacement of 28,586 people to about 168 shelters enabled by the authorities, 92 of which still have the capacity to receive more displaced people and remain open for new arrivals, according to the report from the Disaster office. It is believed that many more may have fled the attacked regions, but they would have taken refuge in second homes, relatives’ houses, or rental properties. For her part, the Minister of Social Affairs, Hanine al Sayed, explained that a large number of people are still trapped in traffic jams on the roads. The bombing campaign began after the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah attacked northern Israel, in what it argued was a response to the assassination of the supreme Iranian leader, Ali Khamenei, and the continuation of Israeli bombings against Lebanon despite the 2024 ceasefire. This is the worst wave of attacks since the entry into force of that cessation of hostilities, which ended more than a year of conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
