With this feat, Judge joins a select group consisting of Babe Ruth (1920, 1921, 1927, 1928), Mark McGwire (1996, 1998, 1999) and the Dominican Sammy Sosa (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001).
The Yankees captain also became, along with Ruth, the only hitters in the franchise to achieve consecutive seasons of 50 or more home runs, after the 58 he hit in 2024.
The historic home run came in the second inning, when Judge punished a sinker from Jonathan Cannon at 96.6 mph. The ball was hit at 106.9 mph, traveling 392 feet to the center field bullpen.
With this home run, Judge reached 365 career home runs, a figure only surpassed in Yankees history by Ruth (659), Mickey Mantle (536) and Lou Gehrig (493).
This new achievement adds to the record he equaled days ago, upon receiving 34 intentional walks in a season, a mark shared with Ted Williams (1957).
Judge continues to solidify his status as one of the most dominant and emblematic figures in Major League Baseball in the 21st century.
